Aquabelles Triple Bronze At The
Canadian Open Synchro Nationals 2005
Aquabelles place 2 teams in the top six at Nationals
May 16, 2005
The Calgary Aquabelles have been successful at consistently placing athletes on
Synchro Canada National teams. This year at the first annual Canadian Open
Synchro Swim Nationals 2005, held May 12 - 15, the Calgary Aquabelles Synchro
Club placed bronze in three events.
This event was an exclusive Tier 7 event, the highest skill level
attainable in Synchro. From all over Canada the best of the best
competed at this year ending event. Just qualifying to compete at this
event is an accomplishment that has eluded many Synchro clubs. Having
two teams competing at this event is an outstanding accomplishment.
The Calgary Aquabelles Tier 7 Junior JM team proved that they are no
stranger to the competitive spirit. When it counted they come through
in traditional Aquabelles style. In Tier 7 Junior Team, Free Routine
Combo and Solo they captured bronze medals.
That is not the only accomplishment that the Aquabelles are particularly
proud of. The Aquabelles placed two teams in the top six in the Tier 7
Junior Team event and the Free Routine Combo. No other club was able to
do this in the entire country. Let alone in one event but two team
events. This is greater accomplishment than one might consider at
first glance. The amount of dedication and commitment from athletes and
coaches both required to attain this success is impossible to measure.
This success and the many before it, is at testament to the outstanding
coaching the club has been privileged to currently have on staff.
